Now, I’m not your regular fashion writer but let me give you my thoughts. First up was Vintage men’s wear and it was said that inspiration had been enticed from the pages of Kerouac’s On The Road Don’t tell anyone but I’m pretty sure the over-riding influence was Tintin! There were of course the signature Lyle & Scott classics, with some items given a trend inspired twist.

Vintage Women’s wear looked chic with references to Lyle & Scott’s rich history, particularly during the Forties, Fifties and Sixties. Think: layered, knitted dresses, 1960′s influenced jackets and coats with subtle detailing setting individual pieces alight.

If you were to decide on an overriding trend you’d have to say the chunky knits gave yet another Lyle & Scott nod towards the nostalgia of the British fisherman.

Finally we saw a selection of items from the Club range which looked good. There seemed to be a sense of fun in the collection with plenty of bright colours for the ladies while matching accessories pulled out accent colours from the men’s collection for a coordinated look. The Club range for Autumn Winter 2012 certainly appears to be tailored to the fashion concious young golfer, if such a beast exists!

This beautiful decanter is mouth blown which basically means the glass blower threw away the mould which guarantees that no two decanters will ever be the same and because it’s mouth blown the length is determined by the blower’s arm, I’m assuming Riedel don’t employ short armed blowers but you never know!

While the glass is still molten a crystal rod, blackened by manganese oxide, is applied which gives it the distinctive dark line and due to its open-ended design your wine achieves greater aeration as it gurgles through, taking on more oxygen each time you pour from it. Whether it will improve the taste of Blue Nun is anyone’s guess but if anything can improve the taste, this decanter can!
