You know Summer is well and truly underway when everyone is talking about the festivals they are attending. Not so long ago that required a tent, a rucksack, wellies and earplugs and a session with a chiropractor when you got home but thanks to the pop-up, festivals can be as short as a day.
Just Eat, the go-to site for takeaway food delivered to your door, have partnered with London’s Red Market and open their doors today at 5pm for the start of a 3 day food festival featuring some of London’s most popular and delicious restaurants with a choice that will have everyone’s mouths watering!
Of course no festival would be complete without music and Just Eat have that covered too with a first class selection of DJs and live acts from Ghana to New Orleans any lots of places in-between to ensure you feet are tapping while you tuck in to some amazing food.
Last night’s VIP launch was attended by Nicola Roberts, Henry Holland, Nicole Scherzinger and a whole host of celebrities and oh, me too! So can tell you first hand just how good the food was as I tried to sample as much as possible, for research purposes of course!
Memorable dishes were served up by Gaylord Restaurant whose amazingly tasty and tender Lamb Rogan Josh tantalised my taste buds, there was also a heavenly wood fired pizza from Sapore Vero, delicious protein pancakes and blueberries from Gym’s Kitchen and of course I couldn’t help myself from paying two trips to Red Dog Saloon first for their Cajun chicken wings and then for their juicy and succulent 14hr St Louis Cut Ribs.
Sadly I had no room left Panda Berry’s curry goat or a crone from Dum Dum Donutterie but don’t be surprised if you find me there tonight after work washing it all down with a few cocktails created just for the festival.
Interesting factoid for you. Just Eat have just over 60,000 restaurants spread over 13 countries but the UK provides over 27,000 of them. We sure do like our food!
The Just Eat Food Fest runs from 5pm Friday 22 July and 10.30pm Sunday 23 July 2016. If you are in London you should pay it a visit, the forecast says it’s going to be a scorcher!
