Hannspree Launch The HANNSpad SN70T3

We know the talk at the moment is whether or not Microsoft’s Surface tablet will be the iPad killer but the fact of the matter is the vast majority of people don’t really care either way. What they want is a portable device that they can carry around to surf the net, chat on Skype, update their social media accounts and watch movies while travelling and they don’t want it to cost a fortune.

For those people Hanspree will be launching their budget priced tablet the [simpleazon-link asin=”B00861DG8S” locale=”uk”]HANNSpad SN70T3[/simpleazon-link] later on this month. The SN70T3 runs the latest Android 4.0.3 operating system (ice cream sandwich) and has what the PR company calls a stand out leather-clad design. No, I’ve no idea what that means in English either but what is probably more important is it has a very affordable £99.99 price tag which includes a 2 year warranty as standard.

Bearing in mind it’s a budget item it still boasts some decent features, assuming you can believe the data available. For instance it’s powered by a 3,000 mAh battery which in optimal conditions should offer around 5 hours of video playback time and it supports video formats such as MKV (H.264), FLV, MPEG 1, MPEG 2, MPEG3, audio formats like MP3, AAC, AC3, WAV and the usual image formats.

The HANNSpad measures 230 x 150 x 10.5mm and weighs just 380 grams and is powered by an ARM Cortex A8 processor with a clock speed of 1 GHz running alongside 512 MB of RAM. You’ll get 4GB of flash memory that you can expand via a microSD card inserted in its built-in reader.

As for the display, the HANNSpad has a 7-inch panel with a resolution of 800 x 400pixels and an aspect ratio of 16:10. This capacitive touch screen carries LED back lighting and supports five point multi-touch gestures. Camera-wise, the tablet is equipped with a front-facing VGA camera that has a 0.3 megapixel sensor and of course you’ll get online via Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/ connectivity.

Sure it won’t give Apple or Microsoft sleepless nights but then when have they ever delivered something in this price bracket?
